Emerging

Emerging

The mountain within you

stands.

Through the blinding sting of graupel

or a whip wind whirl of gusted wail,

an anchored place

endures.

You can trust this.

Every element will

scrape,

reshape,

tug like tiny squalls

at your contours

yet not

one

is your own weather —

no one creates a storm

like you.

Howl.

Let things fall apart.

Shatter the rocks that have

already

cracked

and send them humming

tumbling

home

for as the light levers its saffron way

across ruffled sea and gauzy moon,

it rushes a blush up your ridges,

kissing the dust that

sifts from your shoulders,

flashing like stars

ancient,

new

each

one

caught

by the mountain

emerging,

the stillness

rooted

within you.
